Objects, Art, architecture
Patrick Scott is a Sydney based designer and architect working across objects, furniture and installations. His work focuses on simple systems, repetition and material, producing clear, durable pieces driven by process and function.
Stadt Series
The Stadt Series is a collection of cast aluminium vessels that reference the qualities of modernist and brutalist architecture. Each piece is sand-cast and hand-finished, revealing subtle variations that reflect the process of making. The series explores endurance through simple, weighty forms that resist ornamentation, focusing instead on proportion, surface, and material expression. The aluminium naturally oxidises, forming a patina that evolves over time. Together, the pieces form a study in restraint, repetition, and the quiet presence of this industrial material.
holding Ground
Holding Ground is a group of three cast aluminium vessels arranged as a single composition. Each object holds its own weight and variation, while together they form a quiet study in restraint, balance and modular composition.
Presented as part of ‘soft’ Melbourne Design Week 2024.
Cutstack
CutStack Series is a collection of cast aluminium vessels shaped through stacking, mass and modular arrangement. Each piece is sand-cast and hand-finished, keeping the texture, variation and small imperfections of the process visible. The works can be read individually or together, sitting somewhere between vessel, object and architectural mass.
